The time has come to remove the last suppers off our hives to get the bees ready for winter. This is always a exciting part of the year which I look forward to. All the hard work the bees have done throughout the summer has created a beautiful dark honey (which is now available on our store).

During this time we check the bees for pest and disease, as this is a crucial step into getting our colonies through the winter. A strong healthy colony will have a much better chance at getting through the winter, and coming into a new year with the bees ready to go. we also take note at what stores the colony has. Through the winter bees will use stores to regulate temperature in the hive so its important to make sure they go into winter with the food they will need.
